How Should a Bikini Fit?

As a top tip, your bikini should always fit like your favourite lingerie pieces and should take on an effortless feel. Girls, we all know there is nothing better than a perfectly fitting bra - the same applies to bikinis!

Just like your lingerie, your bikini should fit well without squeezing or pinching against your skin. After all, you’ll want to feel confident and cosy whilst you’re catching those rays. For more information on bikini sizing, you can check out our sizing charts here.

Getting the right size in your bikini top is equally as important, girls. Besides, you’ll want to be fully cupped up and supported whilst making a splash. There’s a few telltale signs to ensure you’re getting the right fit in your bikini top:

  • The underwire or banner of your bikini top should sit flush underneath your breasts.

  • You shouldn’t have any side spillage at the top or sides and the fabric should be smooth against your skin. For the band, you should be able to slide your finger between the fabric and your skin - this is so you can make sure the top isn’t too tight.

  • Your straps should also be snug and not digging into your shoulders. If your straps are too tight, you might get some nasty marks and sore areas, so you might need to size up.

  • Try the bounce test! Have a body-loving boogie in front of your mirror to make sure all of your best bits stay secure. No one wants to cannonball into the pool and have an extreme bikini malfunction.

Just think of your bikini top as an extension of your bra collection, girls. For more information on how a bra should fit, you can check out our guide here. We've also got a guide on measuring your bra size at home if in-person fitting rooms aren't your thing.

How Should Bikini Bottoms Fit?

Onto the bottoms...

Getting the correctly sized bikini top can be a minefield, not to mention finding the right . Whether you want to go for a barely there feel or something with fuller coverage, there are a number of styles out there to suit your style and taste.

  • As a rule of thumb, your bikini bottoms should sit securely without riding up or being too tight against your groin. If your bikini bottoms are too tight, you might notice some irritation and feel a little bit uncomfortable and of course, we want you to be Lounging in comfort.

  • On the other hand, a loose fitting bikini bottom will sag and stretch out and won’t offer you any support, so in this case, you might need to size down.
